Clifton M. Wolfe, age 97, 420 Shaffer Road, Bloomsburg, died Tuesday, December 9 at Bloomsburg Hospital where he had been admitted Monday. Prior to moving to Shaffer Road, Clifton had lived at 1081 Market St., Bloomsburg for 67 years. Clifton was born November 16, 1911 in Mifflinville, the son of the late Aaron and Amanda (Redline) Wolfe. He was a 1930 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. During World War II he served with the U.S. Air Force in War Training Services as a Flight Instructor, teaching new cadets for their first ten hours of flight training. Prior to his retirement in 1969 Clifton was a self-employed Wholesale Candyman. Clifton was a member of Shiloh Bible Church. He was also a member of the Gideon Society. He enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle and fishing. Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Josephine (Hock) Wolfe, two daughters: Betty Albertson and her husband, Clyde, Jr., Orangeville and Barbara Krug and her husband, John, St. Charles, Missouri and a granddaughter Amanda "Mandy" Walters, Frederich, MD. He was preceded in death by a brother: Asher Wolfe on March 27, 1997. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 A.M. from Shiloh Bible Church with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park.
