Obituary
Clara G. (Cicilioni) DeRose, age 99, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 12, 2022, a resident of the Muncy Place Nursing Home, Muncy.
She was born on Tuesday, January 9, 1923, in Peckville, a daughter of the late Mariano and Valentina T. (Bellando) Cicilioni. Clara graduated from the Blakely High School, Peckville in 1940. For many years, Clara was employed by Bloomsburg University as a Secretary until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg.
In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter DeRose on February 22, 1992, a grandson, Patrick Diemer, a sister, Anna (Cicilioni) DeRose, and a brother Louis Cicilioni. She was the last remaining member of her family.
Survivors include a beloved son; Dr. David P. DeRose and wife Dr. Judy of Bloomsburg, four grandchildren; Denise Rutter and husband Todd, Michael DeRose and wife Marilyn, Phillip DeRose and wife Ashley, Alex DeRose and wife Laura, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the DeRose family.
