Obituary

Chester E. Richart, age 79, a life-long resident of Bloomsburg, died on Thursday afternoon, June 12, 2014 a recent resident of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care and under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice.
Chet was born on Sunday, September 16, 1934 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late John and A. Gertrude (Runyan) Richart. Throughout his younger years, Chet attended the Bloomsburg area schools. Shortly after completing his education, Chet enlisted with the United States Army where he served his country faithfully just prior to the beginning of the Korean Conflict. On March 27, 1959, Chet married the former Gloria Suprum of Bloomsburg. After returning home from the service, Chet was employed by Kennedy VanSaun in Danville, in addition to Strict Manufacturing and the former Magee Carpet Co. Most recently, Chet was employed for over ten years in the housekeeping department of Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Everyone will always remember Chet as a security guard for the Bloomsburg Fair Industrial Arts Building where he worked faithfully for many years. Chet enjoyed gathering with friends at the Columbia Mall in Buckhorn and also loved taking trips to Canada fishing as well as hunting and fishing locally. Chet also dedicated much of his time and knowledge to helping coach the Magee Carpet Co. Little League team in Bloomsburg and the Bloomsburg Midget Football Team.
In addition to his parents, Chet was preceded by a son: Robin Richart on March 28, 2013; three sisters: Julia, Audrey and Wilma; and three brothers: Eugene, Marlin "Moe", and William.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Richart of Bloomsburg; a daughter: Kelly Bronzburg and husband, Michael, of Elysburg; two granddaughters: Holly Marie Daniels and husband, Kyle, of Denver, CO; and Carrie Marie Linn and husband, Sean, of Elysburg; a great-grandson: Cade Linn; four sisters: Anita Peckne and husband, Daniel, of Bloomsburg; Shirley Faust of Florida; Patricia Hopper of Spring City, PA; and Sharon Richart-Long of Bloomsburg; and one brother: Dennis Richart and a wife, Mary Ellen, of Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, June 18 at 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg with Rev. R. Christian Dunlap, Columbia Montour Home Hospice Chaplain, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Richart family.
