Chester E. "Chet" Knittle, age 88, of Bloomsburg, passed on Sunday morning, November 17, 2024 at his son's home in Scott Township. He was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg.

Chet was born on Monday, April 6, 1936 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Chester C. and Edith (Eifert) Knittle. He attended the Bloomsburg High School. On October 27, 1956, Chet married his loving wife, C. Joanne Knittle who preceded him in death on November 15, 2018. Chet was employed by the former Alumax Building Products as a laborer until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Hidlay Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. Chet was also a member of the Bloomsburg Elks, and a social member of the American Legion Post 273, Bloomsburg. He loved his animals, woodworking and helping lots of people with their projects, driving around looking at scenery and meeting up with his friends for meals.

In addition to his parents and wife, Chet was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie L. Priestman; as well as two sisters: Patricia Knittle and Ella Ruth Shoemaker.

Survivors include his beloved son: Phillip Knittle and wife Gretchen of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: Nicole Morrow and husband Jeremy of GA, Jeremy Robbins and wife Penny of Nescopeck, Megan Scerbo and husband Rob of Bloomsburg, Kyle Knittle of Berwick, Zach Knittle and wife Kristyn of Berwick and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private Services will be at the convenience of the family with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Lightstreet Highland Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Knittle family.
