Chatterdassi J. "Jessy" Samsundar, age 83, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at her home. Jessy was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 10 years.

She was born on Wednesday, August 2, 1939 in San Fernando, Trinidad, a daughter of the late Rampersad and Sanacharie Rampersad. She attended schools in Trinidad. On June 15, 1954, Jessy married her loving husband, Gangapersad Samsundar who preceded her in death on February 10, 2012. For over 20 years, Jessy was employed by NYC Agency as a home health aide until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church. She loved to help others and was always ready to help financially. She cared about people and worried about people who suffered around the world.

Survivors include her three children: Laura Samsundar of Bloomsburg, Roy Samsundar of New York City, NY, Omatee Dookie of New York City, NY and a sister, Parbatee Jairam of New York City, NY.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Drive, Bloomsburg with Eric Miller Lead Minister, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Samsundar family.
