Charlyne M. Eichner, age 64, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born on Wednesday, August 17, 1955 in Danville, a daughter of the late Lynnwood K. and Charlotte M. (Chamberlain) O'Brecht. Charlyne graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1973. She expanded her education by attending Bloomsburg University graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in art studio with a concentration in photography. On December 17, 1977, Charlyne married her loving husband, Jeffrey D. Eichner Sr.
For several years, Charlyne was employed by Bloomsburg Mills. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy. Charlyne had a general class amateur radio license (KB3GYQ), a member of The North American Short Wave Association, a member of Skywarn, a former member of The Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service, and a former member of The Columbia/Montour Amateur Radio Club. Charlyne enjoyed shortwave and ham radio, quilting, raising chickens, gardening, photography, the holidays especially Halloween, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 42 years, Jeffrey D. Eichner, Sr., three children; Jeffrey D. Eichner, Jr. of Bloomsburg, Carrie E. Eichner and husband Adam R. Hornberger of Mt. Carmel, Jade L. Eichner of Danville, two granddaughters, Alexis R. Eichner, and Aurora J. Eichner, two brothers, Ted Wozniak, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Kenneth E. O'Brecht and wife Mary L. of Millville.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 2575 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with Rev. Gordon E. Smith and Pastor Chuck Chamberlain, minister of Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Eichner family.
