Charlotte L. Kurian, age 73, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living of Bloomsburg. Charlotte was a resident of Bloomsburg all of her life.
She was born on Thursday, July 17, 1947, a daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Winseck) Chyko. Charlotte graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1965. On October 27, 1967, Charlotte married her loving husband, Frank R. Kurian Sr. who preceded her in death on June 11, 2017. For over 20 years, Charlotte was employed as a Home Health Aide until her retirement in 2015. Prior to that she owned Aunt Charlotte's Bake Shop on West Main St. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was also a member of the Beaver Twp. Historical Society. Charlotte enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, crafting and fishing and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Chyko, Sr.
Survivors include her beloved five sons; Frank R. Kurian, Jr. and wife Deirdre of Des Moines, WA, Dennis M. Kurian and wife Jessica of Fredricksburg, VA, Charles T. Kurian, Sr. and wife Jennifer of Bloomsburg, Nicholas J. Kurian and wife Rebecca of West Kingston, RI, Matthew J. Kurian, Sr. and wife Laura of Turnersville, NJ; twelve grandchildren, Sierra Kurian, Reese Kurian, Samantha Kurian, Jack Kurian, Landis Kurian, Blake Kurian, Sophia Kurian, Matthew Kurian, Jr., Madelyne Kurian, Charles Kurian, Jr., Abigail Kurian, Travis Kurian, two sisters, Pauline wife of Raymond Kurian of Nesquehoning, Katherine wife of Gerald Kurian of Bloomsburg, and a sister in law, Elizabeth Chyko of Bloomsburg. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she was a beloved Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence, Celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kurian family.
