Obituary

Charlotte Elaine (Hopfer) Ickes, age 80, of Orangeville, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2019, at her Fishingcreek Twp. home.

She was born on Thursday, January 12, 1939 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Jacob and Ruth (Johnson) Hopfer. Charlotte graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1956. On July 21, 1962, Charlotte married her loving husband, John L. "Jack" Ickes who preceded her in death on June 9, 2015. For many years, Charlotte was employed at The Heritage House Family Restaurant, previously known as Ed & Dick's Restaurant. She later worked for five years at the Sears Store in The Columbia Mall. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Benton and a past member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She was also a member of the Bloomsburg Elks Ladies Bowling League, a past member of Millville Junior Women's Club, a longtime Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Berwick YMCA Senior Water Aerobics Class. Charlotte enjoyed spending her time decorating, crocheting, gardening, and bird watching. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Albano.

Survivors include her three daughters, Melissa A. wife of James Richter of Orangeville, Anne Marie Ickes of Camp Hill, Jennifer L. Ickes of New Orleans, LA, five grandchildren, Melissa A. Richter of Greenville, SC, James I. Richter of Greenville, SC, Kristin A. Richter of Hanford, CA, Brenna E. Richter of Orangeville, Kellsey B. Albano of New Orleans, LA, four great grandchildren, a sister, Donna L. wife of Richard Robison of Hellam, PA, two nieces, Deborah Zullich and Christine Robison, and one nephew, Mark Robison.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 300 Mendenhall Lane, Benton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Olusola Adewole, as celebrant.

Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Zion Cemetery, Fishingcreek Twp. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 West Main St., Millville is honored to be serving the Ickes family
