Obituary

Charles S. "Mike" Holdren, age 82, of Madison Township, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was admitted Saturday. He was a resident of his home in Madison Township for over 46 years.

Mike was born on Wednesday, December 30, 1936 in Derry Township, Montour County. He was welcomed into and raised by the Cragle and Milheim families. He graduated from the Danville High School in 1956. For five years he faithfully served his country in the National Guard.

For his entire working career, Mike was employed as a machinist at the former TRW of Danville. He always had part time jobs. He worked for many years at the former Sears store of Bloomsburg and at Hack's Services Station, Jerseytown.

Mike attended the Mill Green United Methodist Church of Millville.
Mike was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 58. He was an original member of the Millville Pool Association and served as past President of the Jerseytown Sewer Authority. He enjoyed cars and working with hand tools. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Alexander.

On November 11, 1957, Mike married his loving wife, the former Peggy Kreamer.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years is a son, Randall R. Holdren of Hunlock Creek, ten grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. On February 22, 2016, Mike was preceded in death by a daughter: Renee Holdren.

Services to celebrate Mike's life will be announced at a later date.
