Charles Kenneth Hill, age 83, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at his Hemlock Twp. home. Charles was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 17 years and previously of Toms River, NJ.
He was born on Friday, October 1, 1937 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, a son of the late Glenn Edward and Clara Pauline (Livesay) Hill. Charles graduated from the Berwick Senior High School in 1956. On January 12, 1957, Charles married his loving wife the former, Darlene Evans. He was employed by JJ Newberry Company and Marriott Corporation until his retirement in 2002. He received numerous awards for his arrangements of storefront window displays in the JJ Newberry stores.
Charles was a member of the Bloomsburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a former member of the B.P.O.E. #1454 Elks Club, Freehold NJ where he served as Leading Knight in 1985. Charles enjoyed golfing with family, especially his brothers and son, RV camping and working in his yard. He truly loved spending time with his entire family. Charles and his daughter Connie were avid sports card collectors and spent many special hours enjoying this hobby together. Charles loved his cats, Heidi and Toby.
In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Hill.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Darlene Hill, four children; Cynthia Lee wife of Anthony Sokol of Orangeville, Michael Charles Hill and wife Patricia of Toms River, NJ, Pamela Kay wife of Rick Sandusky of Blanchard, OK, and Connie Marie wife of Michael Burdick of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, seven grandchildren; John Hurley III, April Hurley, Christopher Hill, Paul Burdick and wife Mandy, Tara wife of Vincent Timpanelli, Brian Burdick, and Samantha wife of Jon Cobb; eight great-grandchilden; Benjamin, Taegan, Hayden, Gage, Stormi, Thea, Prentiss, and Cecilia; four brothers, Phillip Hill and wife Judy of Bloomsburg, Gerald Hill and wife Cheryl of Pennsburg, Alan Hill and wife Sue of Bloomsburg, Jan Hill and wife Min He of Cherry Hill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Hill family.
