Charles M. Eyerly, Sr., age 78, of Kinney Hill Road, Stillwater, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 after a short stay at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was a resident of Stillwater for over 35 years.
Charles was born on Wednesday, March 1, 1933, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Arthur and Myreta (Yost) Eyerly. He attended the Bloomsburg Area Schools. Until his retirement in 1995, he was employed by the Local Union #55 in Berwick as a Bricklayer. Charles was also a member of the Benton VFW.
Survivors include his beloved wife of over 59 years, Ruth (Pegg) Eyerly; a daughter: Eileen Donato and husband, Joseph, of Conyngham; two sons: Charles M. "Chuck" Eyerly, Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Stillwater; and Tom Eyerly of Bloomsburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister: Patricia Hock and husband, Terry, of Buckhorn; and a brother: Edwin Eyerly of Bloomsburg.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Jay E. Jones, of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
