Charlene M. Cove (née Abromitis), OT, CHT, 66 of River Hill in Catawissa, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born in Shamokin, in 1958, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Ann Abromitis (née Kabo).
Charlene was a gifted and dedicated occupational therapist who devoted her career to helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Temple University and later received her master's degree from Misericordia University. Charlene retired this past August after an accomplished 30-year career at Geisinger, where she was affectionately known as the "hand guru." Her skill, kindness and humor left a lasting impression on countless patients and colleagues.
In addition to her professional life, she had a vibrant personal life. She enjoyed traveling-visiting more than eight countries-and loved live music, especially classic rock. You could always find her at the Briggs Farm Blues Festival and at Long Beach Island with her friends at the end of the summer. Charlene's laughter and sense of adventure shone brightest when she was at brunch with her close circle of friends, watching her son Nick perform, or shopping with her daughter Alex.
Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Larry Cove; her son, Nicholas Cove, and his wife, Sarah; her daughter, Alexandra Cove; her sister, Mary Musinski; her brother, John Abromitis; her aunt, Gina Ryba; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her dearest friends, Paula, Cindy, and Luann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Ann Abromitis; her brother, Charlie Abromitis; and her niece, Tamara Abromitis.
Charlene will be remembered as a beloved and cherished wife, mother, sister, co-worker, and friend. Her favorite quote was, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Her warmth, humor, and courageous spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Wagon Shed, 850 Railroad St., Bloomsburg. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories and honor Charlene's life.
