Obituary

Cecile A. Ohl, age 85, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at her home under the care of Commonwealth Hospice. She was a resident of her home for over fifty-five years.

She was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1938 in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Franklin and Stella (Feltman) Yeakley. She graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1956. She expanded her education by attending Susquehanna University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. In June 1959, Cecile married her loving husband, Thomas L. Ohl who preceded her in death on September 6, 2010. She was employed by Middleburg High School as a teacher for a couple years.

She was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. She was also a member of the Alpha Z Delta, Hemlock Township Concerned Citizens Group, served as a Hemlock Township Judge of Elections and was involved in Susquehanna Valley Tres Dias. After teaching she became a homemaker to her three children, she sponsored fresh air kids, sponsored college students through their church, hosted gatherings with the faculty wives. She was a great cook, enjoyed find a word puzzles and being a "Nana" to her three grandsons. She will be remembered for dressing up at Halloween as a Pikachu and friendly sparring over sports teams, always defending the "Seals".

In addition to her parents and husband, Cecile was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Price.

Survivors include her three children; Frank T. Ohl and wife Judy of Orangeville, Pamela Berman of Bloomsburg, Rebecca Ohl of Reston, VA, three grandsons; Robert Berman of Bloomsburg, Aaron Ohl and wife Anh of Bloomsburg, Cory Ohl of Philadelphia, a brother-in-law; Michael Price of Port Trevorton, two sisters-in-law; Judy Ohl and Ruth Anne Ohl, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke's Way, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church with Rev. John A. Mohan, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, is honored to be serving the Ohl family.
