Obituary

Carroll A. Yost, age 79, of Millville, and formerly of Stillwater, went home to be with his Saviour on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, with his loving family at his side.

He was born on Sunday, March 21, 1943 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Sheldon E. and Marion R. (Doty) Yost. Carroll attended the Benton High School. He faithfully served in the United States Air Force, earning his GED degree and was honorably discharged in 1964. On June 5, 1971, Carroll married his loving wife, the former Ferne E. LaFrance. Carroll was the owner of C. A. Yost Construction, retiring in 2017. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Millville. Carroll loved family get-togethers and spending time with his grandkids. He always found joy in helping others. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a detail-oriented craftsman and always taught that if it was worth doing, it was worth doing right.

In addition to his parents, Carroll was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur W. Yost.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Ferne E. Yost, three children; Jared C. Yost and wife Sara of Berwick, Heather E. Hostetter and husband Timothy of Berwick, Justin F. Yost and wife Jana of Fleetwood, PA; nine grandchildren, Hannah Powell-Yost, Madysen Hostetter, Lauren Ney and husband Josh, Chloe Stotler and husband Jason, Lyndzey Hostetter, Kayleah Hostetter, Caleb Yost, Brielle Yost, Marissa Yost; three brothers, Sheldon "Rod" Yost and wife Peggy of Stillwater, Ronald S. Yost of Stillwater, Stephen L. Yost of Anderson, SC; a sister-in-law, Lelia Drake of Factoryville, PA, a brother-in-law, David LaFrance and wife Bonnie of Atlanta, GA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1314 State Rte. 254, Millville.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Micah Felber and Pastor John D. Leatherman, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Millville Cemetery, with military honors provided by the combined V.F.W. and American Legion Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Yost family.
