Carol B. (Brunetti) Phillips, age 64, of Danville, died on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. Carol had been a resident of her Cooper Township home for 23 years.
Born on Tuesday, June 12, 1951 in Reading, Carol was the only child of Thomas and Mary (Romaniello) Brunetti. Following her 1969 graduation from Holy Name High School in West Reading, Carol continued her education at Kutztown State College where she met her husband. In 1975, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education.
Carol was a teacher at several different schools throughout her career. Her final position was at St. Columba School in Bloomsburg where she taught first grade and subsequently served as librarian.
Carol was a faithful member of St. Columba Parish was a member of the church choir.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Timothy L. Phillips, three children: Rachel Sparks and husband, Brad, of Lebanon, Michael Phillips of Pittsburgh, and Sarah Phillips of Bloomsburg, as well as two grandchildren: Owen and Ali Sparks.
A time of visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday morning, June 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street in Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will also begin on Thursday morning, June 25 at 11 a.m. at the St. Columba Catholic Church in Bloomsburg with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Graveside committal services will be held in the Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem.
