Carl M. Church, Sr.

Carl M. Church Sr., 73, of Berwick, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026 at his home. Born in Berwick on September 16, 1953, he was a son of the late Joseph and Laura (Brader) Church.

Mr. Church attended Berwick Area Schools. On August 24, 1974, he wed the love of his life, Rose M. (Lapinski) Church, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Carl was a long-time employee of Dana Corp. in Berwick, and later, Folk Florist in Bloomsburg. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Diet Pepsi. He found joy in the simple things in life. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and being “Pap” and the “Old Man” to his family, by whom he will be greatly missed.

Surviving Carl are his children: Carl M. Church Jr. and wife, Miranda, of Bloomsburg and Tammy M. Church of Berwick; grandchildren: Riley A. Church and Katlynn E. Church, both of Bloomsburg; brother, Joseph Church of Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M. (Lapinski) Church, who passed away February 20, 2019. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Richard Brader, Bonnie Heiser, Betty Remphrey, Linda Remphrey, and Eva Smith.
