Carl N. Beaver, age 77, of Catawissa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at his home.
He was born on Friday, October 29, 1943 in Bloomsburg, son of the late Fred and Ruth (Honaberger) Beaver. Throughout his younger years, Carl attended the Numidia area schools, and later graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1961. Carl expanded his education by graduating from Williamsport Technical Institute in 1962, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, with a degree in General Machining. He faithfully served in the United States Army Reserves with the 814th Supply Company, Bloomsburg and was honorably discharged in December, 1969.
On September 17, 1966, Carl married his high school sweetheart, the former Karen J. Snyder who preceded him in death on March 16, 2017. Carl worked at Girton Mfg. Co., Millville and later at Kawneer, Bloomsburg before founding Beaver's Machine Shop, Millgrove in 1972. He was a member of the Valley Chemical Fire Company, the Roaring Creek Valley Quick Response Squad, the North Kulp Hunting Club, the Atlantic Coast Old Timers Vintage Auto Racing Club, the Roaring Creek Catawissa Valley Historical Study Group, Always Patsy Cline Fan Organization and was a DCNR volunteer forest fire warden. He served as Locust Township Supervisor for many years. Carl had his private pilots license, was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring and collecting antique cars and vintage 50s & 60s automotive-related memorabilia. He restored the 1923 Hahn fire truck, the first fire truck of Valley Chemical Fire Company, in partnership with SUN Vo-Tech School. He loved the outdoors, hiking, conservation and hunting. He was hard working, honest, and always enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include his two beloved children; a son, Cale E. Beaver and wife Deanna of Catawissa, a daughter, Kate wife of Patrick Pacacha of Williamsport, a sister, Nan wife of Leon West of Catawissa, and his companion, Faye Wolff of Buckhorn.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Beaver family.
