Bruce E. Varney, age 65, of Catawissa, died on Monday evening, July 19, 2021, at his home with family and under the care of VNA Hospice.

He was born on Thursday, January 19, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Nathan J. and Leona Marguerite (Murphy) Varney. Throughout his younger years, Bruce attended and later graduated from the Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL. On October 27, 1979, Bruce married his loving wife, Angela L. Reburn, formerly of West Grove, Pennsylvania.

For over 10 years, Bruce was employed by the Holiday Inn in Buckhorn as the Chief Maintenance Operator until his recent retirement on January 1, 2021. Bruce enjoyed spending his time camping with friends and family, doing jigsaw puzzles, collecting coins, as well as helping everyone with any and all projects.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by two sisters: June Stennes and Rita Varney.

Survivors include his beloved wife of forty one years, Angel L. Varney of Catawissa; his daughter, Tina Marie Varney and boyfriend, Eddie Andreas, of Bear, DE; a brother, Ted Varney of Chadds Ford, PA; a brother, Jim Varney and wife, Marilyn, of North Tonawanda, NY; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning, July 31, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Varney family.
