Obituary

Britt P. Fought, age 80, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Britt was a resident of Bloomsburg all his life.

He was born on Thursday, January 11, 1940 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Thomas F. Fought and Francis (Greenly) Fought Seidel. Britt graduated from the Central Columbia High School in 1957. He served with the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. On August 29, 1959, Britt married his loving wife, the former Nancy Kay Sneidman.

Britt was employed as a butcher, caterer and concessionaire until his retirement. Britt and his wife Nancy were proprietors of Fought's Buckwheat Stand at The Bloomsburg Fair for over 25 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy. He was also a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #265 F&AM, The Caldwell Consistory, life member of The Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436, the former Bloomsburg Moose Lodge for over 25 years, life member of the Espy Fire Company, and he formed the Central Columbia Wrestling Booster Club. Britt was an avid wrestling fan, hunter, fisherman and golfer and volunteered at AGAPE, Bloomsburg. He served as a coach for the former Scott Twp. Little League.

In addition to his parents, Britt was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Clarence Seidel, two brothers, Donald "Butch" Fought, and Thomas F. Fought.

Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Nancy Kay Fought, a son, William C. Fought and wife Valerie of New Bern, NC, a daughter, Stephanie Fought Streater and husband Mark W. of Bloomsburg, six grandchildren, Joshua Fought, Shelley Fought, Cole Streater, Taryn Monson, Dustin Flick, Cecilia Toomey, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Scott Fought, two sisters, Betty Lou wife of Barry Williams, and Dottie Sue wife of Zachary Zembower, two sister in laws, Louise Fought, and Kathryn "Betsy" Fought, along with many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg. Masonic memorial services will be conducted by Washington Lodge #265, F&AM at 6:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Fought family.
