Obituary

Bonnie L. Karnes, 78, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Buffalo Valley Nursing Home in Lewisburg.

Bonnie was born on April 12, 1948 to the late John and Marion (Luberercki) Dewalt. Growing up in Bloomsburg, she attended Central Columbia schools, before eventually marrying the love of her life, Harry Karnes. Bonnie and Harry spent 30 beautiful years together before his passing in 1991. Before retirement, she had spent many years working in packaging manufacturing at Foam Fabricators.

Bonnie would often be found tending to her garden, however her greatest joy was being around friends and family. She looked forward to her monthly card games with friends, or shopping and dining out. Bonnie also loved going to Basket Bingo. She had a passion for Longaberger Baskets, even taking bus trips to the store in Dresden, OH. Bonnie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be deeply missed.

Bonnie is survived by her two beloved daughters: Kimberly Muscara and husband, Edward “Teddy” of Manchester, NH, and Stephanie Moralez of Milton; three grandsons: Jonathon and Joseph Moralez, and Corey Muscara and wife, Suzanne; three great-grandchildren: Theodore, Thomas, and Suzanna Muscara; two brothers: Jeffrey Dewalt and wife, Darlene, and Keith Dewalt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Harry, Bonnie is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Dewalt.

Bonnie’s Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St. Bloomsburg with Pastor Michael Spagnuolo, Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery will follow.

The Allen Funeral Home Inc., 745 Market St., Bloomsburg, is honored to serve the Karnes family.
