Beverly E. George, age 89, of Danville and formerly of Bloomsburg, died on Friday, July 22, 2016, at the home of her son, Gary S. George, in Elizabethtown, PA. Beverly was a resident of her home in Danville since 1994.
Beverly was born on Thursday, November 4, 1926 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Carl and Charlotte (Pealer) Eveland. Throughout her younger years, Beverly attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School 1944.
Beverly was employed for 17 years by Southern Columbia School District as a Secretary until her retirement in 1990. Beverly was a member of the First English Baptist Church, where she had served as chairwoman of the Prayer Pyramid . Beverly was Past Worthy Matron of the Catawissa Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Bloomsburg Civic Club, Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary, Danville Women's Club, Fishing Creek Herb Guild and the Danjo Wheelers Square Dancers.
On July 31, 1994, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, L. Pearce George. and also by her brothers: Rodney Eveland and Roland Eveland
Survivors include her son, Gary S. George and wife, Violeta G. Boeshore, of Elizabethtown, PA and grandson, Aaron S. George of Bryan, TX.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the First English Baptist Church 700 Millville Rd., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am at the church with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Lee Barnhardt, officiating. Graveside committal services will be held privately at a later date. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the George family.
