Obituary
Betty J. Penman, age 92, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2022, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare Center in Bloomsburg.
She was born on Monday, February 17, 1930, in Washingtonville, a daughter of the late Albert E. and Helen (Anderson) Reibsame. Betty graduated from the Danville High School. On May 10, 1952, Betty married her loving husband, Larue W. Penman, who preceded her in death on April 15, 2018. She was a member of First English Baptist Church, Bloomsburg. Betty and her husband Larue enjoyed traveling with family and friends and playing card games. She loved her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Reibsame and a son-in-law, Clifford Shultz.
Survivors include her two beloved children: a daughter, Linda J. Shultz of Bloomsburg, a son, Dennis L. Penman and wife Dorothy of Danville, three grandchildren, Shannon J. Maturani and husband Anthony of Bloomsburg, Kirby L. Gillaspy of Bloomsburg, Tyler J. Gillaspy of Bloomsburg, and six great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in Creveling Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Lee Barnhardt, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Penman family.
