Betty Jeanne Long, age 84, of Danville, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, a patient of the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Betty was a resident of her home in Montour Twp. for over 53 years and most recently a resident at Milton Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born on Friday, April 21, 1939 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Henry and Leila Marie (Miller) Girton. She graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1957. On June 15, 1968, Betty married her loving husband, William F. Long who preceded her in death on May 15, 2020.

Betty was employed by Columbia County Domestic Relations Office as clerical staff until her retirement in 2001. Betty was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church. She was also a member of the Motor Maids of America, The Boy Scouts of America active for over 40 years, and The Girl Scouts of America. Betty enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting, camping, reading, riding motorcycles when young, collecting penguins and cake making. She will be remembered by her classmates as the girl that rode her motorcycle to school.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son; Samuel W. Bordner, two grandsons; Timothy Long and Evan Long.

Survivors include five children; William E. Long and wife Sue of Fleetwood, Glenn Long and wife Diane of Riverside, Mary Sue Jones and husband Smoke of Watsontown, Randy Long and wife Donna of Berwick, Mark Long and wife Lori of Berwick, eight grandchildren and eight-great grandchildren.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Ron Wagner, Montandon Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Long family.
