Bernard J. "Bernie" Bafile, age 84, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday morning, August 23, 2025 at his North Centre Twp. home surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of his home for over 34 years.
Bernie was born on Tuesday, April 29, 1941 in Berwick, a son of the late Adolpho and F. Jean (Hottenstein) Bafile. Throughout his younger years, he attended Berwick High School before joining the U.S. Army, serving from 1960 to 1962. On May 30, 1969, Bernie married his loving wife, the former Linda Ann Parker of Bloomsburg. For over 34 years, he was employed by Kawneer doing various jobs until his retirement in 2014. Bernie loved spending his time at home, it's where he always wanted to be. He enjoyed working outside, no matter how warm or cold, and could usually be found working on one of his many home projects. Bernie's greatest love, however, was spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandsons, Riley, Ryder, and Dylan.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Norman "Wayne" Bafile, and Arthur "Charlie" Bafile, as well as one sister; Irene Belcastro.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 56 years; Linda Ann Bafile of Bloomsburg, his daughter; Michele B. Bafile Sharrow and husband Ryan of Bloomsburg, his son; Bernard "Joe" Joseph Bafile Jr. of Saint Petersburg, FL, three grandsons; Riley J. Sharrow, Ryder L. Sharrow, and Dylan M. Sharrow, all of Bloomsburg, two sisters; Frances Miller and Renee Crotzer, both of Berwick, as well as 14 nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Eighth at Market Street, Bloomsburg, is honored to be serving the Bafile family.
