Beatrice A. Evans, age 97, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Aunt Beatty's deep faith in the Lord has led her safely home. She was a resident of Bloomsburg all of her life.
Beatrice was born on Tuesday, July 15, 1924 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Durkin) Evans. Throughout her younger years, Beatrice attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1943. She was employed by Bloomsburg Silk Mill all of her life, retiring in 1986. Beatrice was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg, where she was a member of the former Casey Club, she also attended Christ The King Catholic Church, Benton.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was also preceded in death by a brother, Clark Evans, three sisters, Mary Lanni, Anna Lizardi, and Elizabeth Barlik.
Survivors include her beloved niece and caregiver, Betty L. Hnylanski of Bloomsburg, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends who she considered family.
Bea had a deep gratitude for all the care she received with love and dignity that allowed her to remain living in her own home. Primary caregiver and niece Betty Hnylanski, Geisinger at Home, Commonwealth Home Health, and Maxim provided excellent services and support that made staying at home a reality for Bea. Her genuine appreciation, humor, and "so sweet" personality welcomed everyone who entered her home.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Evans family.
