Obituary

B. Maxine Nevil, age 86, of Benton, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at her Jackson Twp. residence under the care of Geisinger Hospice and surrounded by her family members. Maxine was a resident of her home in Benton for over 40 years.

She was born on Thursday, November 15, 1934 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Hock) Laubach. Maxine graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1953. On June 13, 1953, Maxine married her loving husband, John "Jack" Nevil. For over 20 years, she was employed by Bloomsburg University in the custodial department until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the Waller United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering for many church functions. Maxine loved horseback riding, cross country skiing, hiking at Rickett's Glen State Park, and planting her flower beds.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was also preceded in death by a brother, Roland "Lefty" Laubach, a sister-in-law, Nancy Laubach, and a brother-in-law, Donald Dieffenbacher.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years, John "Jack" Nevil, three children; Lori D. wife of Ray Hock of Cedar Key, FL, Loni K. Nevil and her partner Tina Prato of Winchester, CA, Trace J. Nevil and wife Colleen of Lewisburg, five grandchildren; Kimberly wife of Scott Smith, Rachel wife of Mark Moskovich, Natalie wife of John Buchhalter, Kayla J. Nevil, Tyler J. Nevil, thirteen great grandchildren; five siblings, Marge Dieffenbacher of Bloomsburg, Gary Laubach of Bloomsburg, Donna Harvey of Bloomsburg, Ted Laubach and wife Beverly of Bloomsburg, Dorothy wife of Bill Simons of Bradenton, FL, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Laubach of Bloomsburg.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Nevil family.
