Audrey Ann McKinstry, age 82, of 668 Park St., Bloomsburg, Pa., passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. She had been a resident of Park Street since 1948. Audrey was born in Bloomsburg on May 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Porter B. and Lenna (Applegate) McKinstry. She is survived by one son, Lohr, and his wife, Brandy, of Port Henry, N.Y. Audrey attended local schools and graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1945. She attended East Stroudsburg State College. Audrey worked at Letterman's Bakery in Bloomsburg in the early part of life. She was currently working as an aide at the Columbia County Traveling Library in Bloomsburg. She enjoyed going to stock-car races at Selinsgrove Speedway and other tracks, and watching Bloomsburg Little League games. She and her friend, Ruth Ann Lemons, enjoyed going to many of the church socials and suppers held during the year. Audrey loved the Bloomsburg Fair, getting passes every year and spending time walking around the fairgrounds and talking with her many friends she saw there. She was a member of Ladies of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Allen Funeral Home of Bloomsburg. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St. at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg. Funeral services will be there Wednesday at 10 a.m. Internment will follow the service in the family plot in Creveling Cemetery in Almedia.
