Arthur L. Covert, age 82, of Millville, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Arthur was a resident of his home in Millville for over 20 years.
He was born on Sunday, May 12, 1935 in Plains, a son of the late Steven Covert and Mary (Owen) Leymeister. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. On April 20, 1979, Arthur married his loving wife, Ethel (Yuhas) Covert. Arthur was employed by Ford Motor Company as an Automobile Service Manager until his retirement. He was a member and past Commander of Millville American Legion, Post #564 and a member of Bloomsburg V.F.W. #804. Arthur enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing with his grandchildren, woodworking, boating, riding horses and gardening. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, his favorite driver was Mark Martin and watching Westerns on TV.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was also preceded by a sister, Josephine Hays and a brother, Kenneth Covert.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ethel I.Covert, with whom he would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on April 20; four daughters, Nancy L. Covert of New Haven, CT; Robin Marino of Prospect, CT; Melanie Strileckis of Prospect, CT; and Heidi L. wife of Jeremy English of Millville; five grandchildren Jennifer wife of Danny Velez, Kara Marino, Aidan Strileckis, Meggan English, Austin English and a sister, Lois Honeywell of New Holland, PA.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 West Main at Railroad Streets, Millville.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Robert Strozyk, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. Military honors will be presented by a combined American Legion and V.F. W. groups. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Covert family.
