Anna Faye (Keeler) Seesholtz, age 91, a life-long resident of Bloomsburg died on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2014, a resident of Balanced Care at Bloomsburg for the past year.
Anna was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1923 in Scott Township, a daughter of the late J. Raymond and Martha (Freese) Keeler. Throughout her younger years, Anna attended the former Scott School in Espy where she graduated in 1940. In 1944, Anna married her loving husband, R.A. "Mike" Seesholtz of Bloomsburg. Throughout her life, Anna assisted her husband on the family farm in Lime Ridge. There Anna and Mike grew a wonderful reputation throughout the county for providing a family atmosphere among their many quality strawberry fields. Anna loved supervising the young families and children that would come to pick their strawberries. Everyone who came to the farms would always refer to Anna as "Grandma".
Anna also loved to spend her time honing her skills of knitting, reading a good book and also enjoyed creating paintings. Most of all, Anna loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On May 28, 1997, Anna was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Seesholtz.
Survivors include her beloved husband, R. A. "Mike" Seesholtz of Bloomsburg, with whom she would have celebrated 70 years together on July 27th; two sons: S. John Seesholtz and wife, Maryann; and Robert A. Seesholtz and wife, Susan, both of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren: Kate Hannah, Kirk Seesholtz, Lance Seesholtz, Todd Wagner, Chad Wagner and Lisa Stout; seven great-grandchildren, and a sister: Hazel Brooks of Bel Air, MD.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will also begin on Saturday morning, March 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with family friend, Rev. Terry VanHorn, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to be serving the Seesholtz family.
