Obituary

Anita Ann Heizer, 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with her family by her side.

Born on February 13, 1947, Anita was the daughter of the late Philip and Marjorie (Feese) Eifert. She graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1965 and went on to attend Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1968. She dedicated her entire 45-year career as a Registered Nurse to The Bloomsburg Hospital, where she held various roles, culminating in her position as Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management before retiring in 2013.

An active member of the former Bloomsburg Church of the Nazarene, Anita served in many capacities, from Sunday school teacher to board member. She especially loved singing and was a part of the Ladies Chorus and the church choir. Anita found joy in gardening, nurturing her plants with the same care she showed to those around her. She was also an exceptional cook and baker, delighting her family and friends with her delicious food. Anita's life was marked by her unwavering faith in Jesus. This faith made her a devoted prayer warrior for her family, friends, and coworkers. She blessed everyone she encountered with encouragement, compassion, and love. Anita epitomized perseverance, handling each trial in life with grace. Her legacy was to love others and point them to Jesus. Her faith in Jesus as her Savior assured her that she would one day be in heaven, freed from her broken body and able to dance in the arms of Jesus. She is now doing just that.

The greatest joys of her life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Eric (Laurie) Heizer, Denise Heizer, and Allison (Greg) Jaloszynski, and her grandchildren, Kyle (fiancée Michelle), Nate, Evan, Avery, Owen, and Abby. She is also survived by her sisters, Vera Showers and Susan Read, as well as many nephews, nieces, and supportive friends. Anita was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Phylis Holdren.

Anita's family extends their deepest gratitude to all her family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and caretakers for the love and care they have shown her over the years.
