Amy Louise Johnson, age 59, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Amy was a resident of Bloomsburg all of her life.
She was born on Thursday, August 17, 1961 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late John J. and Olive E. (Lahr) Ehmer. Amy graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1979. On September 8, 1979, Amy married her loving husband, Gary E. Johnson. At age 19 her career started at The Columbia County Courthouse, working for Judge Myers for several years. For over 35 years, Amy was employed by Bloomsburg University, as a Recruitment Coordinator until her retirement in 2015. She loved spending time with her family and going on vacations, as well as cooking for everyone, especially during the holidays. Amy spent countless hours tending to her beautiful flowers and garden. Her grandchildren were the wonders of her life.
In addition to her parents, Amy was also preceded in death by a brother, John Ehmer, a brother-in-law, Ron Yerger and her nephew, Matthew Bradshaw.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 40 years, Gary E. Johnson; four loving children, Lindsay B. wife of Alex Huertas of Mechanicsburg, Brandon P. Johnson and fiancee Amy C. Whitfield of Orangeville, Katelyn A. wife of Timothy Walsh of Bloomsburg, Brett G. Johnson and fiancee Caitlyn McCann of Bloomsburg, four grandchildren, Alex G. Huertas, Jr., Vivian L. Huertas, Trent J. Walsh, Aubrey Johnson, four siblings; James Ehmer and wife Cheryl of Riverside, Elizabeth Yerger of Reading, Anne Bradshaw of Bloomsburg, Chris Ehmer of Bloomsburg; a sister-in-law, Sally Ehmer of Baltimore, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
