Allen C. Arnwine, Sr., age 94, formerly of Danville, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, a resident of The Gardens at Orangeville.
Allen was born on Wednesday, September 13, 1922 in Bloomsburg, son of the late Charles and Edna (Ande) Arnwine. Throughout his younger years, Allen attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1939. During World War II, Allen faithfully served his country. He was honorably discharged from the US Army.
In 1945, Allen married his loving wife the former, Helen C. Farver.
For over 42 years, Allen was employed by Rome and Haas Co. as an Carpenter/Machinist until his retirement in 1982. He was a former member of the Bloomsburg Moose.
In addition to his parents, Allen was also preceded by three siblings, Harold Arnwine, Vera Hinkel, Arlene Truskey and Beatrice.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Helen C. (Farver) Arnwine of Orangeville; two children: Allen C. Arnwine, Jr. (Margaret) of The Villages, FL and Deborah Kern (David) of New Bern, NC; 5 granddaughters; and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Graveside committal and Military honors will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Arnwine family.
