Alice V. Dyer, age 94, of Catawissa, passed away on Friday evening, December 13, 2019, a resident of The Gardens at Orangeville. Alice resided in this area all of her life.
She was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1925 in Berwick, a daughter of the late George and Louise (Sherman) Hoffman. Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Troy E. Dyer on October 13, 2009. For many years, Alice was employed as a seamstress in Catawissa. The career that brought her the greatest joy was owning her own business, "Alice's Dolls". She was known in the area for her antique doll restoration skills and her collection. Most weekends you would find Alice at a doll show in the area or one of the local flea markets. Alice enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband in their motor home and she loved all animals, especially her cats and dogs. Alice was a woman of great faith and a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church of Riverside.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was also preceded in death by six brothers, John Hoffman, Arthur Hoffman, William Hoffman, Elwood Hoffman, Walter Hoffman and Bobby Hoffman and two sisters, Violet Clark and Emma Judge and a daughter in law, Rita J. Dyer.
Survivors include her son, Christopher E. Dyer of Catawissa, her daughter, Christine Marie Conner of Danville, five grandchildren, Penelope J. Dyer of Bloomsburg, Andrew C. Dyer and wife Crystal of Bloomsburg, Pamela J. Dyer and fiancée Ron Jumper of Mt. Carmel, Angela McCormick of Danville, Ryan Boone and wife, Casey, of Danville and five great grandchildren, Trisha J. Fasnacht, Aliyah J. Dyer, Briana McCormick, Connor Jenkins and Spencer Boone.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019, from 10 am to 11 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11 am with Eric Miller, Lead Minister of Bloomsburg Christian Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Dyer family.
