Shirley F. Kressler

February 17, 1941 - January 21, 2017

Shirley Faye Kressler , age 75, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice. Shirley was a resident of her Scott Twonship home for over 9 years. Shirley was born on Monday, February 17, 1941 in Lewistown, PA, a daughter of the late Milford M. and Mildred (Yerger) Musser. Throughout her younger years, Shirley attended and later graduated from the Selinsgrove High School in 1959. On December 27, 2008, Shirley married her loving husband, Russell L. Kressler. For many years, Shirley was employed by Stein Flower Shop of Lewisburg. She was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed spending her time as a volunteer at Agape, Stonington Fire Co. Auxilary, and Red Cross. She was also a Meals on Wheels volunteer and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and canning. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded by two siblings: Mary Witmer and Warren Musser. Survivors include her beloved husband: Russell Kressler; three children: Sherry L. (Martin) Weaver of Danville, Michael S. (Lettie) McKinney of Sunbury and Daniel S. McKinney of Irish Valley; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons; three step children: Susan Kressler of Carndall, IN, David (Michelle) Kressler of Lebanon, and Sharon Kressler of Minneapolis, MN; three siblings: Charles (Margaret) Musser of Sunbury, Carolyn (Daniel) Bordner of Sunbury, and Harold (Pam) Musser of DE. A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with her pastor, Rev. Jennifer Parks Snyder, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Northumberland Memorial Park. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kressler family.
