Sandra L. (Jefferson) Rupp Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra L. (Jefferson) Rupp passed peacefully to join her mother, father and sisters on the morning of July 31, 2022. She was the victim of complications of a neurological disorder known as Multiple Systems Atrophy. Sandra was born in Phoenixville, PA on May 9, 1949, the daughter of the late Joseph and Miriam (Kingston) Wien. Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Rupp to whom she was married fifty-one years. She is also survived by a nephew, Chad Whitenight, Sr., his wife Aimee and their children Taylor, Chad, Jr. and Andrew and a sister-in-law Helen Gair and her companion Mark. She is also survived by a large contingent of friends in the Lebanon and Bloomsburg areas and her loving dog, Shelby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Donna and Barbara. Sandy grew up in the Royersford area and graduated from Spring Ford High School in 1967. She graduated from Bloomsburg State College and attended graduate school there. Sandy worked at various school districts in the Lebanon and Bloomsburg areas. She was especially proud of her work with disabled students through several programs at the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit. Sandy worked as traffic manager at WLYH TV in Lebanon and she was also a licensed realtor in the Lebanon Area. Sandy was well known for her volunteer work in the community and was twice chosen as the Volunteer of the Year by the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association, where she also served a term as President. She was a life member of the Bloomsburg University Alumni Board. She was active in the CI Chapter of PEO, a local philanthropic organization. Sandy was a volunteer at her church, St. Matthew Lutheran, Bloomsburg, where she organized the monthly social gatherings held after services. She served on church council at her previous church in Lebanon. Sandy served two terms as a member of the Bloomsburg Area School Board. She enjoyed participating in activities with the Red Hat Society in Bloomsburg. Sandy was also known for her skill at various crafts. She was an excellent cross stitcher and won several awards at the Bloomsburg Fair. Her handmade sweatshirts with cross stitch designs were a hit with her coworkers and friends at Christmas. She also designed and made cards of all types. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her and her husband’s clothes. At the time of her death, Sandy was under the loving and wonderful care of the Geisinger Hospice organization. She was especially appreciative of the care given by the nurses, personal aides and other staff members. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 Market St., Bloomsburg. Funeral services will begin on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg.
