Larry L. LeVan

November 14, 1952 - May 6, 2016

Larry L. LeVan, age 63, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Friday evening, May 6, 2016. He was under the loving care of the staff of Geisinger Medical Center since March 31. Larry was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 6 years. The early years of Larry's family life were spent in Unityville. Larry was born on Friday, November 14, 1952 in Bloomsburg, PA, a son of the late Carl C. and Jean H. (Pursel) LeVan. Throughout his younger years, Larry attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1972. On March 28, 1975, Larry married the love of his life, Peggy M. (Deihl) LeVan formerly of Jerseytown. Larry worked for his father in the general contracting and construction business for nearly 20 years. For the next 17 years, Larry was employed by Bloomsburg University as a carpenter and locksmith until his retirement in 2002. Larry was a member of the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church of Iola. He was also a member of the NRA. Larry enjoyed spending his time wood working, fishing, hunting, watching little league baseball games and spending time with family. His favorite activity was playing with his grandson, Emmitt. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Peggy M. LeVan of Bloomsburg, PA, two loving daughters, Pamela M. Yost and husband, Kevin, of Orangeville, PA and Suzanne L. LeVan and significant other, Steven J. Stryker, of Bloomsburg, PA, grandson, Emmitt D. Yost and innumerable nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother, Carl E. LeVan of Nescopeck, PA, sister, Jane M. Mensch of Berwick, PA A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, 2938 State Route 42, Millville. Friends and family will also be received on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the church. Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church with Rev. Paul C. Converse, Sr., officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the LeVan family.
