Jean E. Emminger

November 9, 1933 - October 30, 2017

Jean Estella Emminger, age 83, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017, under the care of the Geisinger Home Health & Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville. Jean was born on Thursday, November 9, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of the late William M. and Vermont L. (Moore) Room. A life long Christian, Jean faithfully dedicated herself to church and shared her faith in her many places of residence, including, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Kalamazoo and Burtonsville, MD. Jean was a devoted mother to Steven Emminger and Janet (Emminger) Engstrom; loving mother in law to Lynne Emminger and Peter Engstrom; beloved grandmother to Melissa and husband, Tanner, Ryan and wife, Sophie, Lauren and husband, John, and Ashley and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings: William Room, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Carmel, IN, and Karen Rowenkamp, and husband, Jack, and Doris Dickerson, and husband, Denny, both of Cincinnati. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by sisters: Georgetta Haverkamp, Joyce Cunningham, JoAnn Mays, and Jacqueline Goodwin. A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 20 Brookside Drive, Danville. Funeral Services will continue on Friday at 3:00 pm with pastor, Rev. Dawes Dunham, and Rev. Allen Abbott, officiating. At a later date private graveside committal services will be held in the Union Cemetery, Burtonsville, MD, where Jean will be buried alongside her beloved husband of 47 years, AC Emminger, who died December 23, 2000.
