Janice Maria Ann (Lew) Pursel , age 60, of Bloomsburg, recently passed away at her home. On the wings of angels, she is now joyously reunited with her beloved mother, Grace, her loving and devoted husband/soulmate, Robert, and her much adored cats, General and Ebony. Janice was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 30 years and was formerly of Manhattan NY. Janice was born on Saturday, May 18, 1957 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Young O. and Grace Massey (Cherry) Lew. Janice graduated from Mother Cabrini High School, Manhattan in 1975. She expanded her education by attending New York City College of Technology and graduated with an Associate Degree in Accounting in 1977. On July 28, 1984, Janice married her loving husband, Robert H. Pursel, of Bloomsburg. For over 20 years, Janice was employed by Toys-R-Us Corporation as a shift supervisor until her retirement in 2006. She was very proud of her recent affiliation as a consultant for doTerra products. She enjoyed belly dancing, practicing Reiki and reflexology and provided therapeutic massage for people and animals. She participated in yoga and enjoyed shopping. She was an avid collector of Barbie dolls, teapots and anything related to cats. Although Janice was the last surviving member of her immediate family, She leaves behind a number of loyal and devoted friends, whom she regarded as family. They include her life long friend Grace Angelo and her husband, Ken, of Cortlandt Manor NY; their daughters: Carolyn and Alyson; Darby and Tom McDonnell of Bloomsburg; Willa-Fae Baskin-Danley of Montoursville; Laura McCarty of Orangeville and Charlie Knapp of Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:30 am at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 129 North Market Street, Selinsgrove, with her pastor, Rev. Canon Paul C. Donecker, officiating.
