James V. Perrige

James V. Perrige, age 64, of Bloomsburg, went home with His Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. James was a resident of Bloomsburg for most of his life. He also lived in Riverside and several other towns but Bloomsburg was the town he most called home. He was born on Monday, August 1, 1955 in Philadelphia, a son of the late William M. and Ruth E. (Breazeale) Perrige. James graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1974 and still maintained many of those relationships through the years. He graduated from Bloomsburg State College in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. James was employed by Maria Joseph Manor, Danville for many years in food service and for a time at Thompson Mailing. He will always be fondly remembered for his love of art, nature and his pet lizards. He was most passionate about his love for Scripture and devoted himself to careful Bible study daily. James was a longtime member of the Bloomsburg Bible Church and also worshipped regularly at Open Door Christian Fellowship. He was also a member of Celebrate Recovery, Man-Up Monday and AGAPE. Survivors include his beloved children, Erica A. Perrige of New Berlin, Andrew J. Perrige of Riverside, a grandson, Wyatt E. Dorman, a brother, Michael Perrige, Jr., D.O., two sisters, Anne E. Perrige, Esquire, and Nancy H. Shellenberger. Funeral services will begin on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Open Door Christian Fellowship, 291 Mall Blvd., Bloomsburg with Pastor Peter Albrecht, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Perrige family. Memorial contributions in James's name are suggested to: Open Door Christian Fellowship, 291 Mall Blvd., Bloomsburg, PA 17815, to be given in his name to the Bloomsburg Children's Museum for the furtherance of art and learning for kids in Bloomsburg.
