Irene J. "Rena" Morris

February 6, 1933 - October 11, 2021

Irene J. "Rena" Morris, age 88, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021, a patient of The Gardens at Orangeville. She was born on February 6, 1933 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Ralph and Melie (Bafile) Stoico. She was a computer operator for most of her career working for the House of Representatives & S. Freedman & Sons in the Washington DC, Maryland area. Upon returning back to her hometown in the 70’s she worked as a cook for Columbia Child Development retiring after 18 years in 1995. She was a devoted lover of animals, particularly concerned over the welfare of dogs and cats. She was very much an animal advocate, spending years fostering & volunteering for the Animal Resource Center, being one of the first active members, over 25 years ago. Irene couldn’t emphasize enough the importance of responsible pet ownership and to have your pets spayed or neutered to eliminate unnecessary over population. In addition to passing along her strong Italian heritage, our mother often quoted, “You're given strength when you need it most”. We are thankful she taught us that confidence. She raised her family to be strong and work hard, give back, and to always believe that we could do more and be better than we ever thought. This will pass on for generations. For that, our family is blessed & thankful. In addition to her parents, Irene was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Aucker, a brother, Michael Stoico, two sisters, MaryAnn Peterson, and Yvonne Seesholtz. Survivors include her two beloved daughters, Brenda M. Aucker of Millville, Eileen M. wife of Calvin Yost of Bloomsburg, a grandson, Brian Robinholt and wife Jillian of Bloomsburg, a granddaughter, Amanda Yaskiewicz and her significant other Craig Shively, a great-granddaughter, Reagan Yaskiewicz, all of Bloomsburg, a sister, Gloria wife of Ralph Dendler of Port St. Lucie, FL, a brother, Ralph Stoico, Jr. of Berwick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Morris family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Gardens at Orangeville for their compassionate care and treating Irene like a family member of their own. Memorial contributions in Irene's name are suggested to: Animal Resource Center, www.nokillarc.org or PA Pets, 203 E. 5th Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
