Gertrude Alberta Archer, age 73, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, a patient of the Grandview Health Homes in Danville. Gertrude was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 4 years and previously resided in Orangeville. She was born on Saturday, February 17, 1945 in Trenton, NJ, a daughter of the late George and Reba (Taylor) Archer. In her early years, she worked for the Visiting Homemakers of New Jersey. She loved working for her patients, cooking, cleaning, shopping and being company for them. For over 15 years, Gertrude was employed by Berwick Hospital Center as an Environmental Aide, after moving to Pennsylvania 23 years ago. Gertrude was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church and loved Pastor Scott Lyons. She loved her collection of pigs and Elvis memorabilia. She and her daughter and granddaughter went multiple times to the Bloomsburg Fair to see Ryan Pelton, the Elvis impersonator, she even got his autograph. Gertrude enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, doing word searches and watching Let's Make A Deal, Walker Texas Ranger (she loved Chuck Norris) and The Price Is Right. She loved spending time with her family. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Gertrude was also preceded by, her husband of 29 years, Charles F. Maulbeck, Sr., her sisters; Sandra Allegar and Ruth Ward and her foster parents Raymond and Alice Robbins. Survivors include her daughter, Anna M. wife of Stanley W. Griffin Sr. of Orangeville; and their children, Stacey, Carrie and Stanley W. Griffin, Jr. and her great grandson Caiden Jenkins; and her son Charles F. Maulbeck, Jr. her stepchildren Leonard Maulbeck, Rita Peters, Matthew Maulbeck, Frances Maulbeck, Vincent Maulbeck, Irene Wason, Timothy Maulbeck, her eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren all of New Jersey, two sisters; Meta Fritz of Indianapolis, IN and Sherry wife of Jack McConnell of Las Vegas, NV, also a close family friend and brother in law David Fritz of Berwick.
