Ethel A. Vought

Ethel A. Vought, age 94, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday morning, March 21, 2022, a resident of The Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1927, in Wapwallopen, the daughter of the late Oscar C. and Martha (Harter) Moyer. For several years, Ethel was employed by The Bloomsburg American Legion as a cook, and at the former Western Sizzlin' Steakhouse, Buckhorn as a salad prep worker. Ethel was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church, Bloomsburg and a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, crocheting, gardening and solving crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, Ethel was also preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Vought on September 13, 2005, by a great-granddaughter, Karie Jackson, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her two children: a daughter, Tina M. Knouse and her boyfriend, Chuck Hubbard of Berwick, a son, Kevin W. Vought and wife Bernice of Arden, NC, five grandchildren, Brooke Jackson and husband Adam, Ryan Vought, Melissa Hornberger and husband Steve, Joshua Vought, Scott Geiswite and wife Jennifer, two great-grandchildren, Madelynn Hornberger, and Austin Jackson. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Berwick. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Vought family.
