Eric Thomas Fogelsanger

March 26, 1968 - January 10, 2021

Eric Thomas Fogelsanger, age 52, of Catawissa, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Never one to shy away from a fight, he fought to the very end. Eric was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1968 in Camp Hill, a son of Debra (Shull) Lower and Thomas Fogelsanger. Eric graduated from West Perry High school in 1986 and attended Harrisburg Area Community College. He played semi pro football for the Patriots in Harrisburg. Prior to starting his own company, Cedar Ridge Construction, he worked for Hempt Bros. in Harrisburg, John H. Boger Concrete in Annville and Bower Construction in Berwick. The biggest accomplishment of his life was his four children, Leah Marie Fogelsanger, Lindsey Nicole Fogelsanger, Jake Thomas Fogelsanger, and Lilian Reece Fogelsanger, all of Bloomsburg. He loved watching their sporting events - very rarely missing a game. Eric was so proud of them in all of their endeavors. Eric loved surfing, skiing, archery hunting, playing guitar, Jimmy Buffett, sunsets and riding his Harley. He loved to work with his hands and he always had a story to fit every situation. Eric will be deeply missed by his children and his fiance, Julie Fruit. Leah, Lindsey, Jake and Lillian were his moon and stars and Julie was his angel. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mae Crum and maternal grandfather, Donald Shull. In addition to his children and fiance, Eric is survived by his mother and stepfather: Debra and Paul Lower of Liverpool; his father and step mother: Thomas Fogelsanger and Lynn Williams of Newport; step brothers: Chris Williams, Carolina Beach, NC; Rodney Lower, Raeford, NC; Paul Lower, Mike Lower and Doug Lower, all of Liverpool; maternal grandfather, Jay Crum, Mechanicsburg; maternal grandmother, Shirl Shull, New Cumberland and many numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and life long friends. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Family Life Center, 27 W. Shortcut Road, Newport, PA 17074. A Celebration of Life Service will begin on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Family Life Center, 27 W. Shortcut Road, Newport, PA with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Fogelsanger family. Memorial contributions in Eric's name are suggested to: The Eric T. Fogelsanger Memorial Fund c/o First Columbia Bank & Trust Company, 232 East St., PO Box 240, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
