Elsie J. Raup

September 2, 1936 - July 3, 2020

Elsie J. Raup, age 83, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Homestead Village, Lancaster, PA. She was born on Wednesday, September 2, 1936 in Orangeville, a daughter of the late Ruric and Angie (Beishline) Hess. Elsie graduated from the Bloomsburg High School and Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing. Elsie was married to her loving husband, Glenn E. Raup for 52 years until his death on November 4, 2010. Elsie was a labor and delivery room nurse at The Bloomsburg Hospital for 41 years. She was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She also participated in the Lightstreet Garden Club. After retirement, she and her husband spent winters in Bonita Springs, FL. She participated in home maintenance projects for others, competitive horseshoes, bowling, flower gardening, sewing and card playing. In addition to her parents, and husband, Elsie was also preceded in death by her siblings; Sheldon Hess, Allen Hess, Zender Hess, Arden Hess, Esther Shaffer and twin sister, Elva Eyer. Survivors include a son, Dennis S. Raup and wife Kimberly of Bloomfield, NY, a daughter, Debra wife of Raymond Kneisley of Lancaster, five grandchildren; Jordan Raup and wife Jenna, Jenna wife of Cory Siegrist, Brynne wife of Aaron Young, Melissa wife of Alex Tarnow, and Shawn Kneisley; five great grandchildren, Ava and Eliza Siegrist, Emma and Zoey Young, and a baby boy Raup due in November. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Fred and Sharon Raup and Lee and Donna Stackhouse, along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday July 20, 2020, at 11:00 am from St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke's Way, Bloomsburg with Rev. Dr. Kerry P. Maurer, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Due to recent events and CDC guidelines, the church sanctuary access will be limited to immediate family. All others will have the service broadcast to their vehicles in the church parking lot. A video replay of the funeral services will be provided at a later date at www.Allen-FuneralHome.com.
