Claudia J. (Cooper) Thrush

January 25, 1970 - January 17, 2022

Claudia J. (Cooper) Thrush, age 51, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday morning, January 17, 2022, at her Main Twp. home where she lived for the past 23 years. She was born on Sunday, January 25, 1970, in Dunkirk, NY, a daughter of Tommy L. and Sandy R. (Barefoot) Cooper. Throughout her younger years, Claudia attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1988. Claudia expanded her education by graduating from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in 1992 and Bucknell University, Lewisburg with a master's degree in 1993. On October 6, 1996, Claudia married her loving husband, Arlie R. Thrush. For over 23 years, Claudia was employed by Bloomsburg University, most recently as the Vice President of Finance and Administration. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at BU and loved working with all her colleagues. She always viewed her colleagues at Bloomsburg University as her second family. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg and attended LCBC, Bloomsburg. Claudia enjoyed spending her time reading and entertaining family and friends. She loved vacationing at Ocean City, NJ and attending her sons' sporting events. Claudia was a very caring person and always helped others in times of need. A most loving and supportive mother to her two sons. She never missed any of their activities or sporting events and always let them know how much she loved them. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She was always willing to share her unique sense of humor in times for those who needed it most. Claudia was preceded in death by a daughter, Olivia A. Thrush and her father-in-law, Ken E. Thrush. Survivors include her beloved husband of 25 years, Arlie R. Thrush, her two beloved sons, Cooper A. Thrush and Zachary C. Thrush of Bloomsburg, her parents; Tommy L. and Sandy R. Cooper of Bloomsburg, a brother; Tom R. Cooper and his girlfriend Michelle Thoemke of Waconia, MN; four nieces, Aspen E. Cooper, Autumn L. Cooper, Lexi Thrush and Treva Thrush; three nephews, Tanner Thrush, Tyson Thrush and Matthew Thrush, her mother-in-law; Joyce A. Thrush of Bloomsburg, and two brothers-in-law; K. Bryan Thrush of Gaithersburg, MD and Keith A. Thrush and wife Jamie of Bloomsburg. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held publicly at a later date and will be announced. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Thrush and Cooper families.
