Arthur F. Richer, age 74, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday morning, January 27, 2023, a resident of the Bonham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater for the past 18 months.

He was born on Sunday, April 11, 1948 in Hudson, Massachusetts, a son of the late Arthur G. and Antionette E. (Maybay) Richer. Arthur graduated from the Hudson Catholic High School in 1967. Following high school, Arthur faithfully served in the U.S. Navy and then became a Nurse Anesthetist.

He expanded his education by attending Susquehanna University where he obtained a bachelor's degree and Bloomsburg University where he was awarded a master's degree.

On October 4, 1997, Arthur married his loving wife, Sylvia (Mills) Richer. For over 42 years, Arthur was employed by Geisinger Medical Center until his retirement in April, 2014. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy. He was also a member of and past president of Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by a brother, David Richer.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Sylvia Richer, a daughter: Megan D. Oldfield (Scott) of Danville, sons: Jeffrey Richer (Erin) of Seattle, WA and Benjamin Richer (Renata) of Vine Grove, KY; two stepsons: Scott Coleman and his wife Anna of Bloomsburg, Jamie Coleman of Bloomsburg, 13 grandchildren and three siblings: Dianne Houde (Bob) of North Attleboro, MA, Paul Richer of Meredith, NH and Rosemary Earle (Eric) of Meredith, NH.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Richer family.
