Maynard C. Rubenstein

Maynard C. Rubenstein , age 83, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, October 29, 2016, a resident of the Gardens at Orangeville . Maynard was a life long resident of Bloomsburg. Maynard was born on Wednesday, November 16, 1932 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Alvale "Ray" and Bertha (Michael) Rubenstein. Throughout his younger years, Maynard attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in1951. On March 15, 1954 , Maynard married his loving wife, Frances A. (Petro) Rubenstein. Maynard was last employed by Bloomsburg University where he worked for many years as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement. Maynard was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. He was also a member of the Bloomsburg Moose Lodge #623 where he was an active volunteer with Moose Christmas Parties for many years and the Moose Bloomsburg Fair Stands. Maynard also enjoyed spending his time as a Little League Coach and was a volunteer with Bloomsburg Town Park Association ice cream festival. In addition to his parents, Maynard was preceded in death by five siblings: Ray Rubenstein, Jr., Fred Rubenstein, Frank Rubenstein, Hazel Beyers, and Anna Joline. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Frances A. Rubenstein, daughter, Kathy A. Hummel and husband, Cleve, of Bloomsburg; son, Brian Rubenstein of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren: Christa Keefer, Julie Moskovich, Ryan Ammerman, Dagaen Golomb, Dylan Golomb, Samara Rubenstein, Aradhana Rubenstein, and Chezna Rubenstein; great children: Courtney Keefer, Matthew Keefer, Travis Pequignot, Tyler Pequignot, Luke Moskovich, and Ava Moskovich; great great granddaughter, Lilly Pequignot; siblings: Donald Rubenstein of Bloomsburg, Dawn Tumminello and husband, Jerry,of Lewes, DE, and Nancy Chapman of Bloomsburg, PA. A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Rubenstein family.
