Garland E. Kreamer

Garland E. Kreamer, age 64, of Millville, died on Saturday morning, August 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by family under the brief care of Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice. Garland was born on Thursday, September 21, 1950 in Berwick, a son of the late Eugene and Louisa (Fulerton) Kreamer. Throughout his younger years, Garland attended the Central Columbia High School and completed his education from the University of Alaska while serving in the Military. On August 27, 1967, Garland enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully as a Sergeant with the 119th Transportation Company during the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Garland was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Good Conduct Medal. On August 26, 1979, Garland was honorably discharged from his time of dedicated service to his county. After returning home, Garland married his loving wife, the former Dawn M. Wilson, of Millville on June 6, 1970. Making their home in Millville, Garland was employed for a short time by Lyons Truck and Spring Repair, and in 1981 he and his wife opened Kreamer’s Service Center in Rhorsburg. For over 30 years, Garland owned and operated his automotive repair business until most recently when his health would not allow. He was a member of the Millville American Legion Post #564, the Bloomsburg VFW Post #804 and the 40&8 Cabin Social Club. Garland loved the automotive industry and especially watching NASCAR, attending local antique car shows, as well as sharing his collection of cars. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be remembered a loving man with a strong opinion and a wheeler and dealer. In addition to his parents, Garland was preceded in death by five siblings: Jane Parr, Wallace Eugene Kreamer, Harmon Kreamer, Leland Kreamer and Margaret Kline. Survivors included his beloved wife of 45 years, Dawn M. (Wilson) Kreamer, of Millville; two daughters: Toni Eckart and husband, Terry, of Bloomsburg; and Tara O. Herman and husband, Ron, of Elizabethtown; a grandson: Adin L. Eckart; three brothers: Rondo Kreamer of West Virginia; Millard Kreamer of Orangeville; and Gene Kreamer and wife, Darlene, of Bloomsburg and his best friend and Yorkie, Charlie. A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday morning, August 20 from 10 to 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 W. Main at Railroad Street in Millville. Funeral services will also begin on Thursday morning, August 20 at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Millville with friend, Pastor Mark Shellenberger, of the Benton Assembly of God Church, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by a combined group of American Legion/VFW. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. of Millville is honored to be serving the Kreamer, Eckart and Herman families.
