Obituary

Dorothy L. Reinaker, age 91, of Bloomsburg, died Saturday morning, June 2, 2012, a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville since October 2011.
Dorothy was born on Thursday, April 21, 1921 in Strawberry Ridge, a daughter of the late George and Mable (Loyd) Livziey. She was a member of the 1937 Graduating Class of the Danville High School. During her working career, she was employed by Geisinger Medical Center for over 27 years in the Appointments Department until retiring in 1983. She was a faithful member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Bloomsburg and was a member of the Pollyanna Class. She was also a member of the Ft. McClure Post #804 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy was a very avid sports fan throughout her life and enjoyed watching her favorite teams, the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, and Penn State. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the area, knitting and especially reading a good book.
In 1985, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde R. Sponenberg and by her second husband, C. Donald Reinaker, Sr. in 2004. Also preceding was a brother, George Livziey and a step-son, C. Donald Reinaker, Jr.
Survivors include two daughter: Sandra Strubinger and husband, Bernard, Jr., of Bloomsburg; and Kathy Sponenberg of Jermyn; a son: Barry Sponenberg and wife, Susan, of Wapwallopen; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three step-children: Barbara Showers, Shirley Leiby and husband, Gerald; and William Reinaker; and also two siblings: Jane Stably and Jay Livziey both of Williamsport, and sister-in-law: June Livziey, Danville.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. from the Trinity Reformed U.C.C., 260 E. 7th Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Reformed U.C.C. with her pastor, Rev. Stephen D. Engelhardt, officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral service. Memorial contributions are suggested to: Trinity Reformed U.C.C. Building Fund, 260 E. 7th St., Bloomsburg.
