Beverly J. Creasy, age 83, of Bloomsburg died Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2013 under the care of Seasons Hospice at the Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
Beverly was born on Friday, April 11, 1930 in Beverly Court, Westmoreland County, PA a daughter of the late William H. and Helen L. (Arnold) Davis, and also by her late step-mother, Dorothy Davis. Beverly was a 1948 Graduate of the Catawissa High School. On January 11, 1950, Beverly married her husband, Phillip Henry Creasy. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and very active in the Missions program for many years. She served as the Treasurer of the Mission program for over 20 years, and also taught Sunday school for many years to the Primaries. Beverly enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and being with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Surviving is a son: Wayne A. Creasy and wife, Karen, of Bloomsburg; two daughters: Darla K. Fortune and husband, Charles of Fredericksburg, VA and Joanne H. Thomas and husband, David, of Middletown, DE; a daughter-in-law: Karen Creasy of Sharpsville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother: William H. Davis of North Highlands, CA and a step-brother: Leonard Tyson of Northumberland.
In addition to her husband who passed on June 24, 2005, Beverly was preceded in death by a son: Phillip H. Creasy, Jr. in January of 2006; an infant daughter, Karen, in 1957; a brother: James R. Davis; a half-sister: Wilma Lewis; a step-brother: Miles Tyson and a half-brother: Franklin Benner.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m. from the Calvary Baptist Church, 3300 Ridge Road, Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Timothy G. Smith, officiating. Graveside services will be held in the Elan Memorial Park Cemetery.
